What Causes Shoulder Pain?

If you have shoulder pain, or someone you know has it, pay careful attention to what I’m about to share with you.

Shoulder pain can be “helped” without the use of drugs or surgery… a lot of the time.

So since that’s true, ask yourself this.

Ever wonder what is really causing your shoulder (a ball and socket joint with a large range of movement) to hurt?

Such a “mobile” joint tends to be more susceptible to injury.

Shoulder pain can stem from one or more of the following causes:

  • Strains from overexertion
  • Tendonitis from overuse
  • Shoulder joint instability
  • Dislocation
  • Collar or upper arm bone fractures
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Pinched nerves (also called radiculopathy)

If you want help, you know someone who is suffering, or has suffered from shoulder pain from an: injury, car accident or fall, call our office immediately as shoulder pain may get better, but it’s important you try to correct the underlying cause and dysfunction – – you currently have.

Three quick things to help your adjustment last

Pull out Your Wallet

No, not just to buy something. Pull it out when you’re sitting, especially in the car. A wallet in your back pocket forces one hip to sit higher than the other.

Uneven hips put strain on your low back, making it more likely that you’ll be seeking back pain relief again soon.

Sit Right

If you’re sitting at a computer, move your monitor up so that you’re looking straight ahead at the screen. Your elbows should be to your side at a 90 degree angle, and your feet should rest flat on the floor.

Positioning your body correctly, especially if you must maintain that position for a long period of time, can minimize muscle strain and help you to maintain correct alignment.

Fix Your Rear View Mirror

After your back adjustment, sit properly in your car and look at your rear view mirror. Position it so that you can see clearly. Then, the next time you get in, don’t adjust the mirror.

Adjust your body position. This will help you to maintain proper posture while driving.

Chiropractic and allergies

A lot of people don’t know what I’m about to tell you about allergies and how you might be able to get some relief.

So what does chiropractic care have to do with allergies?

Good question! Here’s your answer.

Chiropractic care releases the pressure on the nervous system – allowing the immune system – to work more effectively.

Recent studies of psychoneuroimmunology have shown that the functioning of the nervous system is relevant to the function of the immune system.

So in other words, the better the nervous system works, the better the immune function is.

Chiropractic care is a hands-on approach to body alignment and health.

Regular chiropractic adjustments help remove subluxations (impingement of the nerves in your body), and is a term that refers to vertebra/bones that are out of alignment, causing stress on the nervous system. STRESS = HEALTH PROBLEMS!

Chiropractic care realigns the spine and allows the body to heal itself, which is always does and always will do.

The body’s ability to heal itself is restored through the central nervous system and the re-connections that it brings to the rest of the body.

Regular chiropractic adjustments allow your body to function properly.

They also help the body’s immune system to function properly.

If you have allergic reactions to a substance, you may benefit from regular chiropractic care.

A healthy body is capable of neutralizing toxic substances in your system.

Chiropractic care is the most holistic approach to allergy treatment, allowing your body to do what it was built to do.

Understanding Your Nervous System

The nervous system controls and coordinates every function of the human body.

Therefore, interference with the nervous system (especially from the head down to the tail bone area) will have a broad effect on functions of the body.

It is your nervous system that allows you to adapt to, and live in your environment.

A large portion of your nervous system passes through your spine.

It is your spinal cord that acts as the major cable exiting your brain, travels down inside your spinal column and branches off into spinal nerves at various levels of your spine.

These spinal nerves then exit between individual spinal vertebrae and go to the various parts of your body. The nerve is the road of information within your body.

To be healthy it is essential that your nervous system function properly and FREE from any interference caused by subluxations.

Subluxations [spinal misalignment] can cause interference in the nervous system where the spinal nerves exit and even irritate the spinal cord.

Visualize your nervous system as a water house outside your house.

If someone kinks the hose, the water doesn’t come out very good, and it slows down the amount of water that is going to reach your lawn. If you leave it like that, and you never take the kink out of the hose, most likely your lawn is going to suffer and die off because you didn’t get the right amount of water to it.

Same with your body. You have to take care of it or it’ll have issues. Issues you may not even associate with your spine.

This can adversely affect the function of various parts of your body, and ultimately your health.

The information below is designed to give you a look at just some of the relationships between the areas of your spine and your nervous system.

Keep in mind that your nervous system is much more complex than can be talked about here. Make sure you get regular checkups at our offices.

Neck pain got you down?

Neck pain can stem from an endless list of causes. For example, you might sleep in the wrong position, and wake up with a cramp in your neck; you might be involved in an auto accident, and experience discomfort characteristic of whiplash; or you may go dancing with friends, and experience a spasm that causes pain if you move a certain way.

These and many other circumstances can lead to neck-related pain. Most of us will experience it sometime during our lives, though it will present in different ways.

The most common approach most people take to address the issue is to simply ignore the discomfort. It eventually dissipates to the point at which motion becomes less painful – doesn’t it? Not always, and even it if does, you should have it checked.

Unfortunately, if you wait, and the pain goes away, this fails to resolve the most common underlying problems: spinal misalignments and joint restrictions. Without addressing these root causes, the stage is set for a recurrence of pain in the future.

At this office we diagnose the catalysts of neck pain. You’ll discover there’s little need to wait for the pain to disappear on its own; chiropractic care at this office offers quicker and longer-lasting relief.

Cervical discomfort is usually related to vertebral subluxations, joint restrictions, and taut muscles that have accumulated tension for myriad reasons. The aches and soreness may be due to strains, sprains, or injuries suffered in the past, which have then steadily worsened over time. Chronic pain can also be caused by degenerative diseases that affect the joints, and restrict their motion. Call now for an appointment. Don’t wait for your pain to just go away!

Investment Strategies

Some of you know me and my investment strategies. You know that I think real estate is a great way to keep your money safe and growing. I know that some of you also do not care about real estate. Others are wondering why am I writing about real estate. What does that have to do with health… [it does…keep reading]

Well if you search the internet you will see that the most expensive real estate markets are

  • Monaco [$1 million will only get you 15 square meters of space, or about 160 square feet. So you could buy a $1 million bedroom!]
  • Hong Kong
  • London
  • Singapore
  • Geneva
  • And then New York

But I think this list is DEAD wrong.

As a Chiropractor and Wellness Consultant I know a place that is the more expensive than the ones above.

The most expensive real estate is…

Drumroll please….
Your Brain! Yes.
In between those two ears of yours.
Do not let anyone live there (especially for free!)

When you are angry or upset
in blame mode,
in victim mentality,
critical of others,
infatuated with them,
you give them the most lucrative real estate to live in…

YOUR HEAD

This will take you off your PURPOSE and leave you STAGNANT.
It can also create STRESS and every disease is created by or feeds on STRESS
This holiday season, perhaps it’s time to forgive and forget.
And get that pricey real estate back where it belongs, in YOUR possession.
